Luke Littler is a name that inflects the entire darts world. Even though he lost the final of the current world championship. The PDC World Darts Championship 2024 was held from December 15 to January 3 in London. Two Lukes made it to the finals. Twenty-nine-year-old Humphries won (photo). For a long time, however, the younger of the Luke-Littler pair was better off. This young Briton was already leading four sets to two and even had a dart to a five sets to two lead. He didn't convert. The older player seized the chance and brought the match, which had a prize money of half a million pounds for the winner and two hundred thousand for the loser, to a victorious end. And why is there so much talk about Luke Littler? Because he's only sixteen years old and could be the youngest ever World Darts Champion. When the phenomenal Phil Taylor turned his match-dart into his first title in 1995, he was thirty-five years old. He had been a World Championship finalist continuously from 1994 to 2010 - missing only 2008, with a final appearance even in 2018. He turned his final appearances into an incredible fourteen titles. Subsequently, Michael van Gerwen (25 years old) and Rob Cross (28 years old) were among the younger winners. But a teenager on the darts throne would be something out of the ordinary after all. Alexandra Palace could therefore experience something truly extraordinary. Even so, fans of the sport can still enjoy a hilarious championship, which was broadcast in its entirety by Sky Sport (Nova Sport in our country), accompanied by a number of interesting studio entries. In the long term, darts is one of the sports with very good marketing and quality partners.
