In a somewhat heated "coronavirus" atmosphere, influenced by the often contradictory and sometimes unclear opinions of various influential people and institutions, the Czech national women's team travelled to Canada for the 2020 World Curling Championships. An acclimatization stay in Calgary is planned, from which the team will move to the venue, which is the town of Prince George, after four days. The squad is identical to the one that won the World Championships with a sixth place finish at the European Championships last November. It includes captain Anna Kubešková and vice-captain Alžběta Baudyšová. Ežen Kolchevskaia is already on her third world championship. On the other hand, Petra Vinšová and Michaela Baudyšová are at their first World Championships. Although we have prepared carefully for all events, one thing surprised us. Snow. We are not used to it from Prague and this year we didn't notice any white powder in the capital. Anyway, we take shovels and shovel the snow from the driveway of the house we live in.
