Women's World Championships 2019. Silkeborg.

The rather modest hall, which functions as a multifunctional ice sports facility and is part of a large sports complex, is the venue for this year's Women's World Curling Championships (Silkeborg, Denmark). The Czechs are missing because they decided not to undergo an additional qualification (Naseby, New Zealand), which could have opened the way to the championships. Nevertheless, a small, three-member team has arrived to ensure that Czech women's curling does not lose touch with current developments. Anna Kubešková, a member of the WCF Athletics Commission, even has an official mission here, as she will represent the said commission at the open meetings. Her teammate Ezhen and the coach of the women's team, Karel, are on call because there is always something new going on and you need to be there. For example, it was interesting to meet the Canadian statisticians( they work with the US, Swedish and Canadian reps) who bring a whole new quality and different perspective to our sport. There are of course a number of important and prominent figures in world curling. You Tube broadcasts are fine, but live is live. We've seen two rounds so far and it's clear that some teams are struggling with a different (not worse) level of ice than they normally play on. It's a long tournament, with each team having a total of twelve games in the regular season, and only after that does the overtime begin. Tomorrow the meetings start and we won't be absent.
