The Women's World Curling Championships have already started.

I overslept this morning. That hasn't happened to me in a long time. Admittedly, the half a stilnox I took around 12:30 last night is a bit to blame, but I was still pissed at myself. Missing breakfast by 45 minutes is a shame. But enough of the ashes being sprinkled on my head (note to JK). After the opening ceremony, the first round was played, with two televised matches. While China vs. Canada was a boring match, the Scots vs. Americans match was a treat. We watched about three ends live in the arena and it looked good for the Scots, but after mistakes the match evened out and in the end the Scots had better luck in the extra end. But we were concentrating on our upcoming duel with the Danes (Nielsen). Experience on the Danes side, a better season on our side, the first match of the championship where all teams have a lot at stake. All of this has shown. Our better LSD gave us the advantage, the first endings added the first mistakes on both sides. We still had a bit of the upper hand, even if a weaker moment came our way. After nine ends we were up by two with the advantage and Anna's last stone was to hit and roll anywhere on the opponent's one to win the opening round of the WC. Anna put it in, Bětka guarded, Klara and Terka swept and we got our first point. After the game, two evening training sessions took us past the eleventh hour and if it wasn't for the sympathetic manager at KFC, we would have gone to bed hungry. Anna and Klara are still going to physio and we're off to Hajan or Hajan. I don't know how to do it right.
