Men ninth, still hoping to stay in Group A. Women in the semis.

The Czech men started well and were the better side of the match until the fourth end. The French, without an advantage, created a tricky situation around the only centre guard in the fourth end and Jiri was short with the last draw to five feet when Thomas Dufour was similarly short in front of him. A cashed four meant the French lead was 5 to 2. After our one came the opponent's three. After eight ends, it was 10 : 4. Czech curling will therefore be absent from the Men's World Championships for the first time in two years. Even so, thanks to Jiří Snítil's team for a good representation and especially for opening the way to the World Championships for Czech curling in the past years.rnrnThe women's game was made easier by the opening end, in which the Estonians made several mistakes and the Czechs took the lead with a six. The overall victory of 17 : 1 shows that teams of completely different performance met. The bigger nerves were on the sidelines, where only the penultimate stone of the Austria-Hungary match decided that the Hungarians would be left with third place in the group.rnrnLet's keep our fingers crossed for a while. Both teams need it.
