The men played with the Danes, the Czechs with the Russians.

The men faced one of the tougher opponents last night - Denmark. The deciding factor was probably the three-way tie, with the umpire eventually awarding the third point to the Danes after repeated measurements. We went into the last one with a two down advantage, but the Danes shot it down, hence the close loss. Today's very early women's game was against an opponent that is always one of the best prepared. The pro women from Russia went into the last end one down with an advantage, but our team had a pair of well placed stones in the ring and managed to ugard those to the end. Sidorova's last draw was very difficult and that's why after a critical stone the Czechs scored a three and thus an eye-catching victory 10 : 6. Let's keep our fingers crossed now for the men against Switzerland.
