The men defeated the home Norwegians.

The women had a match against the Danes on the schedule from the morning. The Dupont sisters, along with their teammates, have already qualified for the Beijing Olympics from the World Championships in Calgary. And they are the traditional opponent of our team. We lost to them in Canada, but now we wanted to get back at them. A very even match going into the sixth end brought a difficult situation in the seventh end. This resulted in having to play accurate positioning against three of our opponent's stones. However, only one was able to be overthrown and the Danes gained a deuce. That was umpire. The evening was the turn of the Scots, who, despite a little hesitation, have so far performed quite sovereignly. They were precise against us and soon ran away with the match. So the women are 0-2 for the day. The men's team made a sensation when they beat the home Norwegians in a thrilling televised match. The spectator-attracting course brought twists and turns, mistakes, but above all beautiful stones. And many of them came from the Czech side. The last stone of the ninth end was a "feather" double barely visible from the quarter. Precise execution meant a deuce and a lead by the end, which Lukáš Klíma's team managed to keep. A very valuable scalp and a promise before the Olympic qualification, where the Norwegians will be one of the opponents.
