The men beat Spain.
After four defeats, the men (Klíma, Černovský, Boháč, Klípa and Jurík) recorded their first victory. In this afternoon's game they beat Spain and evened today's score to one-one. In the morning the Scots were outclassed by Mouat. The women's team, led by captain Alžbieta Zelingrová (formerly Baudyšová), first beat the Slovenes in the morning, after a defensively led duel, with the decisive moments coming in the final ends. In the afternoon, she fended off the Englishwomen's efforts to keep the match even. After seven ends, with the score 11 : 4, the Czech women could take stock of a successful first half of the Round Robin with four wins and one loss. Tuesday is a bit more relaxed for the women, their only opponent will be the Estonian women after noon. The men have a tough day tomorrow. They'll face the Swedes first. Weakened by the loss of their captain Niklas Edin, but still the star Swedes we see all the time at the top of virtually every competition.
