The silver medalists from the last European Championship - Danes (R. Stjerne), were the opponents of our national team in the morning match. After the half the score was 2 : 2. The seventh and eighth end was decisive, in which the Danes scored a total of 4 points, and so, despite a powerful finish, we record a loss of 5 : 6. The girls had the Norwegians at noon and the match was not going well. The northerners pulled away to a four point difference fairly soon, but then things started to happen. Linda came out swinging, and finally after two ends played without advantage, it was even going into the tenth end. Losing by a stone (also 5 : 6) was all the more disappointing as we managed to tighten up the opponent, force errors and gain a mental advantage. The Swiss saved the win against the Latvians in the last end with a three-point save. The ice is reasonably fast in the A-ice (14.3 - 14.6) and shows some minor irregularities. It is even faster in the B ice (15,0 - 15,2) but somewhat less spinny. The minutes are never ending and I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing almost the entirety of our women's game against the Latvians tonight.
