Men against Swedes. Women against the Norwegians.

Yesterday's game against the Swedes had its favourite in the experienced northerners. Our team, without the ill Karel Klima, played a very good game (Sam threw the third stone), but the team led by Oscar Ericsson, after gaining a two-stone lead and having the advantage, did not let us do anything. We play Canada in the ninth round and we want a win. Canada is playing a very decent standard, but they have occasional lapses which we will try to take advantage of. The women took on the Norwegians in today's very early game (8.00am) We were better from the start, creating plenty of chances to multiple score but missing little bits (including two dirt on the ice!!) here for a three, there for a four. In the end, everything was under control and there was no need to throw the last stone. Under certain mathematical circumstances, we can still make it to the tie-break for the semi, but that's more of a theory. The French beat the Japanese, but the last place will not pass them by.
