In an almost existential match, the Czech men showed excellent morale. Just when it looked like a well-played match was about to fall apart again, they scraped together the rest of their mental strength and beat the Chinese team on the last draw. We lost the promising lead we had gained during the last third of the match but eventually capitalized on the advantage in the last end. The win puts us back in the relegation playoffs, but the remaining matches will require us to bring out the best in us. The women took on the previously unbeaten Scots (skip Muirhead). The game had a turning point in the sixth and seventh ends. In the sixth we failed to stay at deuce and in the seventh we made a mistake trying to double and then the Scots kept three stones in the circle. Even the final effort did not change the result (Scotland : Czech Republic, 6 : 3). The boys go against the Swiss at 14.00 and the girls against the French at 19.00 in the evening (the match is again broadcast and can be watched via webcast e.g. from www.worldcurling.org (it's no longer there)
