Nagy and Szekeres against Kubeska and Kubeskova.

Friday morning, 9:00. According to the system, the teams currently in fifth and sixth place face each other. The system is deadly for teams coming from the bottom. We know that if we win, we go against the Finns, and if we win again tonight, we go against Canada. The opening of the game is like something out of a bad dream. We don't read the ice well, we're short on draws, and we rightfully get a 4 in the first end. In the next, the Hungarians easily score one at their disadvantage. In the third end we start to throw and the opponents make mistakes. We even have a stone for six at the end, but we are too long and only write for four. We go into the fifth end with a two stone advantage. We try to play for two with an awkward shift, but it's only our one. The next end is again a bit out of our reach and after a short draw by the Hungarian it's just their three. Four down and two ends to go. We want it badly in the seventh, we've got our chances, but it's only one in the end. In the last end we create a good position for the necessary three on the extra end, but the last slow stone takes away all our hopes. Hungary - Czech Republic, 9 : 7. The Czech Republic finishes the World Championship in sixth place out of 27 participants. photo: us and Hungarians, team in hats If I try to evaluate the championship from the player's point of view then I have to say a few things. The level of the teams varies from really bad to very good. It is clear that the teams that at least partially specialize in the mixed doubles category, or at least have coaches who master this category, have a chance. Sixth place corresponds to our quality compared to the rest of the world. This category seems to have a bit more random elements hidden in it than "big" curling. If we can prepare our pairs well in the future, we can think about a permanent place among the top eight, which is an important indicator for us. I have to thank everyone who wrote to us and there were not a few. Believe me, we fought for you too, and wanted to reach even higher. Also thanks to our sponsor BF and also to CSC for the opportunity to represent.
