Our women await their fourth - and final - game in the group until Wednesday noon. The women's Group B schedule has been a real mess this year. And even the roster numbers aren't accurate. Based on the published roster of players, I wrote that Pavla was playing against the Hungarians, which, as I learned from Ondra, was not true. I regularly see the girls' team at the men's games, if they can do a little, they are there and cheer. The men started against Denmark (Ulrik Schmidt) at 2pm. Ours didn't play badly, but still the Danes took the lead. The eighth end was interesting, when at 2 : 6 there was a chance for a three after a big mistake by the opponent. The Czech stone played after the time-out didn't work, but the final, difficult double ensured at least a deuce. In the ninth end, there was a long chance to score, but Ulrik reversed tactics and we narrowly missed a run-back that would have given us hope for a one. The Danes protected the last end and easily took a three-point lead to win. The Norwegians beat the Scots and the Frenchman lost to the Swedes in the extra end. The weak Italians were no match for the Germans and the Finn lost to the Swiss.
