10.01.2020,

Busy day. Three games.

We started with breakfast at 6.50. And then up to the hall (see photo) to the announced opponent. We created some promising chances with the German team, but couldn't capitalize on them. It was not a very rich duel. In total, the Germans won 4 : 1 and the maximum gain in one end was one point. We proved to ourselves that this opponent is definitely playable, but not easy. Our record with the Jentsch team over the last two years is not very positive. Our opponent in the afternoon was the well-known team Witschonke. We got off to a rough start, scoring three points in the first end, but that was it for a while. The Swiss levelled up and started to make life difficult for us. So we played the fifth end with an advantage at one and got two in the sixth. We tied it up in the seventh end and went into the eighth end with no advantage. With a good game, we took the win with a deuce. But that wasn't all for today. Tonight at 8:00 we were waiting for team Stern, the ninth team in the world according to the current ranking. The start was not good for either team, but then the game started to improve and there were a number of nice stones to see. We missed the fourth end a little bit, when we got behind by three. We missed our chance for revenge in the seventh end and there was still hope in the eighth, but the Swiss showed their quality and won 7 : 5.
