Sunday was a day when both Czech teams had only one match each. The women against the French and the men against the Germans. The early match against the French team started with a precise LSD of the opponent, who gained a sovereign advantage and continued their good performance for most of the match. In particular, skip Jeaneret made several great saves. We were always a little bit ahead, but then we let the opponent tighten up. We were the better team most of the time, but the difference was not very big, so it was decided only at the very end, in which we let the French skip throw the last stone to the deuce, and thus the extra end, but it was an unrealistic stone. The win is fine. We need a bit more accurate throws to force our opponents into heavier stones. The men beat the Germans. First win at the European Championships is nice. Baumann may have been too upset about the win over Edin and didn't repeat his very good performance from yesterday. Tomas Paul is improving from our team, he had a bit slower start and it is immediately visible on the ending. Tomorrow is the Dutch day (men and women against the national teams of the Netherlands), so we need two wins. Then the men have a televised match against Norway in the evening and the women have a totally non-televised duel with the Polish women from 20.00.
