Sunday in Norway and curling.

Sunday offered a duel between the Czech men and the Swiss. Captain De Cruz's team is not only one of the Olympic medalists but also one of the teams that regularly appear in most major international tournaments. At nine in the morning an important victory was born. Lukas, Marek, Radek and Jirka played a very good first part in which they built a small lead. They managed to keep it until the very end. Very valuable scalp. So the men have two wins. From two o'clock in the afternoon, dozens of spectators watched four matches in a huge hall with a capacity of about eleven thousand. The fifth one - Switzerland vs. Germany - started late because one of the teams noticed a small scratch in the ice surface hidden in the logo of the main sponsor and adjustments had to be made to make the ice flawless. For us, the condition of the ice on lane B, where we faced the Turks, was crucial. We didn't have the advantage this time, but we forced our opponents to a one and then played for three in the third and two in the fifth. We confirmed our narrow lead with a one in the eighth end at our disadvantage. The final two ends were directed by Ežen, who with three heavy double take-outs resolved situations that could have given the Turks hope for the end of the match. The Czechs play the Germans tonight and we are already preparing for a tough Monday, playing from 8am and then from 4pm.

I managed to watch the last two ends of the Czech-German duel before the evening practice. Our team was leading for a long time, but there was a collapse in the seventh end, when the Germans scored a four and despite a great effort and a promising score in the eighth and ninth end, the Czechs fell. But the record so far puts our team just behind the flawless Scots. So far - well done boys!
