WCF is preparing some news.
The curling congress continues on the second day. Several interesting suggestions were made. The line-up of discussants includes mainly Scots, Norwegians, fewer Canadians and some Romanians. Among the ideas, the inclusion of the mixed doubles wheelchair discipline among the WCF championships was interesting. In addition, there was also the controversial idea of removing the World Mixed Championships from the WCF calendar. There is still a lot of talk about shortening the game to eight ends. In the afternoon, split sessions, the topics of general curling development, the introduction of a new ranking system, expected changes in the federation's leadership and more were discussed. The evening was once again a Mexican-style socialization experiment. Boats (see photo) with a capacity of twenty passengers sailed through the water channels in the moonlight, unfamiliar dishes on a large table, the ubiquitous tequila and Mexican music performed by brass bands. Brilliantly organised, with no squeaks, witty guides and friendly assistants. All this in a duration of about three hours.
