After spending the morning dealing with the catering system and the horrible looking accident that happened in front of our hotel, we headed to the arena for the match against the Swiss women (skip Ott, or skip Ott). A bit of a wild start meant we were beaten by a two without advantage, then the Swiss made it three. The half was 3 : 4, but then we started to fall apart and even hopeful tries couldn't bring us back into the game. In the end 9 : 3 after nine ends and we probably paid the rookie tax on our second entry on the world curling scene. A short break, just enough for a small meal and practice and we were already facing the so far well playing Norwegians (skip Gittmark). The start is promising, we play well, scoring two for two and soon we are 5 : 2 and have the advantage. However, in the second half the Norwegians catch up and we make a big mistake in each end. The consequence is that we end up going into the extra end at 5 : 5 and our hands are shaking a bit. The troubleshooter is Terka, who plays an amazing triple after the time-out. It's up to Anita to finish and she has to double to win. A well-swept stone actually knocks out two Norwegian stones and we're two up. The win is great, but it took a lot of strength, especially mental strength. It's value is mainly in the fact that we didn't let an unfavorable development in the second part throw us off. Luisa came on in the third game and played well. Tomorrow China (crushed the Germans) and Denmark (beat Canada).
