While the first part of the round robin men's final tournament is being played in the Czech Republic, dominated so far by the young men from Dion, the women's world championship is getting clearer in Silkeborg. It's obvious that the Asian teams are going up in performance as all three (China, Japan, Korea) are in the super six, along with the Russians who I see as a bit of an Asian team too. Europe is held by the Swedes and the Swiss. The teams from the American continent have fallen, and at the bottom, as expected, are the Danes, Latvians and Finns. Open meetings are held at the Radisson Blue Hotel to discuss major strategic issues such as qualification systems for the Olympics, rule changes, the future fate of the World Cup, etc. Unfortunately without the participation of an official Czech representative. Tomorrow the working meetings and the tournament itself continue. We (me, Anna and Ezhen) are doing both, and we also occasionally check the net to see how the situation in the Roztyl hall is developing.
