We're getting close. In less than a week, the first of our national teams leaves for the World Championships. They're juniors and they're going to Sweden. Last year at the World Championships, our boys lost all their games and looked a little envious of the girls who even beat the later world champions - the Scots. This year is different. The girls are staying at home, although they were given better chances to advance, and Chaloupek, Vojtuš, Bareš, Hejhal and Jirounek are going to Ostersund. What are our chances of success? Some of the players are relatively experienced: Bareš - EYOF, EJCC, MSJ, Chaloupek - Universiade, EYOF, EJCC, others are almost without experience, for example David Jirounek. The teams at the World Junior Championships 2008 will be strong and mostly a little or even a lot more experienced. Our goal is to leave the two European teams behind so that we can time our form for the one performance goal next year, the World Championships. Effort and success can be very far apart, but let's hope that won't be the case here. Good luck, good nerves, good health and tons of good stones!!!
