This year's Perth Masters was won by the Scots and Germans. For the Scots - Team Mouat - it was a bit expected. They are one of the best teams in the world at the moment. Their opponents, the Italian team led by Joel Retornaz, led by two stones after seven ends, but a thrilling finish brought the Scots a three-peat and the title of champions. In the women's category the Scots did not make it to the final, with the Norwegians and Germans facing each other. Daniella Jentsch's team is a regular participant in tournaments played on the WCT circuit, has a relatively stable squad (with one personnel change), and works with the experienced Uli Kapp as coach. The Norwegian team has put together two big names with experience, namely Rorvik and Skaslien. The Germans played the final more confidently and with more control. The final effort of the northerners to close the three-point gap was in vain. A large number of spectators watched an interesting tournament. The whole series of matches were of excellent quality and there were great stones to see in solving difficult situations. We, women and men, are back on home ice.
