Play-offs, juniors - men.

For the third time in a row, the Czech men have made it to the play-offs of one of the well-attended international junior tournaments. We meet similar European opponents and measure our strength against them before the first peak of the current season. The main rivals are the Scots, the Germans, the Swiss and this time the Danes and Norwegians. In the semi-final we were facing one of those teams we see often, the German skip Kappa team, led by coach Marcus Messenzehl, two-time European champion and world vice-champion (2004). We managed to finish the match evenly and advanced to the noon final against the Scots. It was clear that it would be the Scots, because in the second semi-final two Scottish teams - Carson and Craik - faced each other. The final opponent was Craik, who won the second preliminary group. A solid game resulted in a last end in which we were one down and without an advantage. Dumfries curling player Scott Hyslop, who plays last stones in Craik's team, had to play a runback to our perfectly placed stone to avoid an extraend. He kept his cool and hit it. So the Scots are the winners of this year's Junior Oslo Cup and the Czechs - Vít Chabičovský, Ondřej Bodlák, Kryštof Žďárský and David Škácha are silver.
