The women's national team, after the experience of the past three years, decided to bet on the start of "on-ice" preparation in Fűssen, Germany, and not at home in Roztyly. From Wednesday to Sunday, the trio of Czech players will be on the ice in the small hall of the large sports complex, where thousands of hockey, figure skating and curling players have been playing their championship and entertainment competitions for decades. The main hall with a solid spectator capacity has hosted not only the World Curling Championships but also the Olympic curling qualification. Next to the track, Ulli Kapp trains his charges and his father Charlie, a well-known curling matador and one of the co-organisers of the famous junior curling camps, watches from behind the curtain. Roland Jentsch prepares the ice for us and we are glad that everything works. A total of eight training units over five days include standard introductory drills, but also small tests and finding solutions to some game situations. When we return home we would like to get on home ice, but as we will be leaving for Oslo soon, we will make a decision at the last minute, also taking into account technical circumstances and conditions.
