The men's game against Canada was thrilling until the ninth end. Up to that point, the Canadians were slightly better and only had a weakness at three that could be played over. Skip Beuk showed good nerves on several occasions and it looked like it was going to be an easy win. The tide turned significantly in the ninth end when the Czechs pinned Canada after a strategic decision in the very beginning of the end and eventually extracted a valuable deuce from a somewhat risky game. Three up going into the tenth end was finally enough and despite one botched clearing, Canada never found a way to the extra end. We were also happy that the fans came out and saw a beautiful end to the match. It is great to play in such a crowd. photo: after the match
