01.09.2019,
Last day of August.
Today's menu featured two Canadian teams. Murphy and Duncan. We lost to both of them after an evenly matched game. Our team's effort was obviously strong and we were able to create solid chances to get more points, but our opponents outplayed us in the end, mainly due to our good knowledge of the local conditions. The ice speed developed quite quickly from 13.8 to an incredibly artificial 15.8. The hits, played at 9 seconds or faster, have a relatively flat trajectory, while the guards and draws are characterized by a significant swing in the final phase. The stones, especially in the circles, have unexpected finishes for us and the guards precisely touch where they are supposed to. It takes some time to get used to the almost ideal curling conditions, which offer other game variations than those we normally use on our ice. It's an experience and a pleasure here. Tomorrow morning we will play another Canadian team and if we win, we will wait to see how we rank in the overall table. If we lose, the tournament is over for us.rnrnphoto: our rented car, which we use to get to and from the hall
