Against the Swedes and the Swiss.

Again, the morning round, the first Saturday games. We're up against a familiar opponent, the young Swedes, the crown princesses of the current Olympic champions, Team Crow. Their number two, Jenny Wahlin, has an Olympic gold medal on her shelf at home. It's an evenly matched match and no one is able to pull off the upset. We can't capitalise on the last stone advantage in one end and the northerners manage to hold on to that small lead until the end of the match. The ice is excellent, it spins five feet and has a "late finish" which is great for creative play, but we are still getting used to it because we don't have those conditions on our home ice. The last game is against the Swiss (skip Schwaller). We dominate from the beginning and with good play we outplay our opponents. The end is after six ends, when we accept congratulations and can watch the matches of the teams on the other lanes. There are already confirmed participants for future Olympics and teams that will play for the last three spots in the Beijing Olympic qualification tournament in December. This year, the points we earned were not enough to qualify for the Basel Women Masters.
