Since there is always a bye for one of the teams when a round is played in groups of five, we had a free morning and early afternoon. We took advantage of this to visit downtown Stockholm, where we walked through the pedestrian area, watched the changing of the guard in front of the city hall, and went for meatballs at an ikea restaurant. In the early evening we moved to the hall where today's opponent was waiting for us. One of the best teams of today, the Swedish national team and 2018 Olympic gold medalists - a team led by Anna Hasselborg (also S. Mc Manus, A. Knochenhauer, S. Mabergs, J. Heldin, coach K. Lindstroem). We have played against these Swedes many times before, both in tournaments and championships, and many of these duels were exciting until the last moments. The last mutual Stockholm game, played a few years ago in Danderyd Hall, even came down to a shootout in the deciding end. But for what it's worth, we haven't won yet. Not even this time. After seven ends the score was tied, but in the eighth end Sara Mac Manus's double take out created a favourable position for the Northerners and they managed to keep it. Tomorrow we will face the English (Fowler).
