We had a leisurely breakfast and then drove to the lobby with a friendly driver who calmly drove us in a five-passenger car. On the way he told us that he always takes a few days off at Stockholm Ladies to come and help with the organisation. When asked where he was from, he said from a town eight hundred kilometres away just outside the Arctic Circle. Enthusiast. We took on the Chinese and the game went pretty much as we thought it would. We could have been finished after six ends, but we let the pressure build and we played some more. But we won the quarterfinal. We were waiting for the draw. The system here is that it ranks the teams in order, so three can advance from one group and only one from another. The rankings assigned us again to the Hasselborg team. After a tasty lunch, we entered the quarter-final duel with determination and forced our opponents to a one in the first end. But then the second and third end didn't work out, as we struggled with the offset and weight. The northerners were better and confidently kept us at bay. Along with Feltscher, Muirhead and Yoshimura, we ended up in the quarterfinals. Tomorrow we'll compete in the individual curling competition and go home to the Czech Republic, where the election will be over. So hopefully there will be somewhere to come back to.
