Russian-German day at the World Championships.

The Russians (skip Sidorova) didn't have to make any extraordinary throws to beat us this time. We let our opponents off the hook with a few mistakes in the beginning, and even though we improved our game a lot, it was too late. The considerable game risks we then had to take led to unsolvable situations. The relatively quick loss allowed me to attend the European Curling Federation executive meeting, where we followed up on the topics discussed at the World Curling Federation open meeting in the morning. These are mainly the system of qualifying tournaments at different levels, minor rule changes, budget debates, etc. The evening match was against Germany. The skip of the Czech team for this match was Terka, who managed her role perfectly until the sixth end, but then mistakes deprived us of the opportunity to play evenly to the end with a chance to win. We are sorry to lose 3 : 7 because our opponent seemed playable. On the other hand, I have to say that Monika Wagner was the best on the course with more than 80%. Tomorrow morning USA.
