Today has already indicated who will have ambitions for the semi-finals in the Olympic curling tournament and who will not. The Swedes showed that their win against the Swiss was no fluke, scoring a win over the uncertain Canadians after an interesting duel. On the other hand, Jennifer Jones' team has looked good so far, and although we haven't commented on the Canadians yet, their performance seems consistent from the stats. Mirjam Ott handled the Koreans, but the quality wasn't too dazzling. The Russians lost to Wang, but have two wins already. Down the line are the Germans, the Danes, the Americans. The British team even gave Erica Brown's team a seven tonight, which isn't exactly common... The final score was 12-3, after six ends. The tournament is just getting underway, but it's something to watch, both good and bad. The cheering of the Russian visitors is unsporting and unsympathetic. Hopefully someone will teach them a lesson. In the evening the Czechs are going out for a beer, at least me and Jirka, and we will discuss it all again. We really don't like the deliberate disturbance of the opponents of the Russian teams at all.
