Scottish scalp in the hands of brave Czechs

Gordon Muirhead, the coach of the Scots, made one change for the game against us, replacing number three Mac Leod with Reid. We also went into the game with a change in the lineup. Michal (after a second consultation with the physio) stood in the circles and threw the third stones. Jakub took the weight of the last stones. The draw shot was perfect for the Scots, yet in the very first end we played a three without advantage after big mistakes by the Scottish skip and after a zero second end we were a bit unlucky to get two. From then on we were still in a narrow lead, but nothing more. In a slightly romantic match (e.g. 4 times played double called on "feather") Jakub showed strong nerves and gave the Czech juniors a taste of winning feelings with a perfect last hit and stay. Michal, Jakub, Martin, David, Kryštof, Jirka and Karel recorded their first victory at the World Championship. Czech Republic - Scotland, 8 : 6
