Oslo 2025

In some ways, the start of this year's curling season is different than previous ones, but in some ways it is the same. The difference is that we were finally able to spend meaningful time on the ice in our sprawling rink, where we piled hundreds of rocks and swept a few miles of lane. What's the same for our team is participating in the Oslo tournament in the Snarøya hall. In terms of dates, the tournament still fits nicely into the summer calendar, as the whole thing takes place at the very end of August. Since the ice is being prepared just before the first round of the tournament and the local icemaker is working on it until the last minute, we had to visit our favorite club CC Bygdøy, which is located in a quite different part of the Norwegian capital than Snarøya, just like last year. The environment was again very friendly and the ice was of an excellent standard, fast and spinning, supposedly better than the one we will play our first game on tomorrow. This year there were only four of us (Míša, Karolína, Aneta and Klara) together with the coach. In the men's part we will have the Czech national team (both Lukáš, Marek and Martin). We travelled together, direct flight from Prague and Klára, who was missing in the line-up last year, was visibly happy after landing in Norway (photo). We are all looking forward to the beginning of the competition season. Tomorrow evening we will meet the Turks on the ice, which will be a good test before the same duel that awaits us in November at the European Championships.
