10.03.2009,

We didn't beat the Swedes.

The match started at 19.00 local time. The start of the match was rather cautious, it was no surprise for the Swedes, their game is based on hard defensive play. We then started to push and at first quite successfully. In the sixth end we got a bit unnecessary deuce after a very complicated situation, when there were 13 stones in the rings. We were playing too long guards and Hasselborg tapped in an important deuce for the Swedes. The northerners improved their game, and especially after the one against they went up by two after nine ends. We couldn't create a situation to gain at least two in the last end, and so the Swedish skip's last stone was an open take out to win the game. It was an even match in which the better play of the Swedish front end was probably the deciding factor. Tomorrow we have the Danes, and it's already a "must win game". Hopefully the girls will sleep well for it.
