Tallinn 2022.

The well-attended international tournament, held in Tallinn, Estonia, is one of the favorites. First of all, we have good memories of the 2018 European Championships, where we won the participation in the following World Championships, but we also feel good in the local curling hall (three lanes), where the organizers always do a good job. Among the participants there are Norwegians, Scots, Swiss. Our program is quite strict. On Friday and Saturday we always play the first round, which starts early in the morning. So no chance to sleep in. But freer evenings are not to be missed either. The flight from Prague to the venue, via Warsaw, had no hitches. On the first plane, about halfway through, someone tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I was Karel Kubeska. When I nodded, all I had to do was say "North Bay". It was Pepa Zajíček from the Canadian town of North Bay, where we played the World Championship four years ago. Pepa was one of our Czech fans and supporters. The cheering of his compatriots propelled the then Czech women's team to an unrivalled sixth place in the world - the best ever finish for Czech team curling. A pleasant meeting, which we hope to repeat in Prague in December. But now we are in Estonia in spirit and we are going to succeed here.
