The last two years have been very difficult for amateur athletes with high ambitions. The constant repetition of structured preparation with timing for the highlights of the season according to the competition calendar. However, the planned competitions or championships do not happen in the end because they are cancelled. Often at the last minute or even during the event. The number of postponed or unfinished events is overwhelming and there are many disappointed and frustrated players and coaches. Battling feelings of frustration is not easy, nor is finding replacement programs to distract the attention of the charges focused on purely performance goals. It increases the likelihood that the graduation period will take a toll on the natural mental resilience of athletes, coaches, and team managers. Two years is not a short time. In some sport categories, an athlete's peak performance lasts only a few years. When obstacles enter that period that make it impossible to apply the skills trained and sell your form, so to speak, the whole effort can ring hollow. Moreover, it is clear that it is not only athletes and the people around them who are going through tough times. The organisers of sporting events are dealing with previously unrecognised issues and their manuals are kneading like dough after pouring in baking powder. The proverbial Sisyphus was tasked with rolling a stone to the top of a hill and letting it roll down the other side. But the punishment meted out to him for his actions was that he always slipped just before the finish line, the stone rolled back down the hill and poor Sisyphus had to start his work all over again. To the grandson of the forefather of all Greeks this punishment was inflicted once and for all. To the athletes, the past two years feel like "forever". Many feel the work is never-ending, going nowhere, and they need support and help. The coach is the person who sets new goals, draws up preparation plans and does not let his charges fall into lethargy. But the coach is also just part of the team, club and association system. He or she is a piece of a complex puzzle, in which, in addition to the aforementioned, there are also umbrella, self-governing and political bodies. The coach is not and must not be alone in this.
