Training - draw 14,2

The one-hour session, divided into five 12-minute blocks, focused on reading stones and ice speed. A few electronic handles needed tightening, but otherwise the stones showed no visible irregularities. These are the same sets of WCF stones that were used in the World Championships in Auschwitz. In Sweden, the stones received a wave of criticism from most of the teams, so all the sets were subjected to a careful inspection at the factory. We haven't had much time to check them on the ice yet, so we can only hope that the revision intervention really helped. The ice is well prepared, it is fast (about 14,2), not quite regularly spinning yet, but we know that will change before tomorrow. The team was graced with a visit from WCF Vice President Kate Caithness. In the evening we will have the opening ceremony and then the opening banquet. Our first match is first thing in the morning, from 8 o'clock, against the reigning World Mixed Doubles champions - the Swiss. Toni Muller brought home fourth place in the men's world a few days ago, and Irene Schori represented Switzerland in the junior category in 2002. Definitely good opponents to warm up with.
