Mixed Doubles Czech Republic, Hájková, Paul In this morning's match, the Czech pair Hájková/Paul defeated the pair Fowlerová/Fowler from England. Our team was always a bit better and the English had to keep tightening. The Fowlers had even won five Olympic points at the last World Championships and if they combined their points total to overtake the still better Scotland with nine Olympic points, they could think about representing Great Britain in the Olympic colours. Zuzka Hajkova prevented a turnaround in the match with a quality comearound in the sixth end, when Tomas bowled superbly. Anna Fowler had a short angle raise for three or even four but was not accurate. The third win in a row keeps the Czechs in good hope for the play-offs. The seniors played against USA (Lank) and were already leading 5-2. However, a measured three put the Americans back in the game. Afterwards, the American team showed better nerves and managed to pull off the win. The Czechs against the Swiss, the Czechs in mixed doubles against Canada (on WCF stream from 17.45 local time) and the Czechs against the Swedes (Wrana) will round off the programme.
