We know the Scottish duo quite well, including the coach with whom I often go to the same tournaments. The Aitken family is a classic Scottish curling family for whom curling is a way of life. We've tweaked a few little things, mainly towards maximising our sense of comfort and confidence, and this has translated into a good LSD, and thus an advantage going into the first end. The match itself produced some decent curling with some nice stones. The opposition struggled a little with the offsets and at one point were a little unlucky when a relatively accurate runback by Gina Aitken showed the risk provoked by our good play, resulting in our stolen three and a decided match. The 8-2 result has boosted our confidence, but we know that more tough opponents await us, so we are humble. Sunday evening in Karlstad doesn't offer many options for a nice dinner in nice surroundings for reasonable money. I go for a kebab, the players go to the hall for the evening buffet. We finish at the Settlers at 10:00. In the morning we get up at 5.30 and the Brazilians are waiting for us.
