The afternoon belonged to the women. The traditional opponent - the old fox from Germany has always done us somehow, and sometimes she didn't even know how. But this time Anna, Tereza, Martina, Klara and Veronika showed better technique, tactics and psyche. After a nervous start we struck for the first time in the fifth end and won in two. The key was the eighth end and in it we played two without advantage. We pushed and Andrea had a tough draw against three. The ending wasn't bad, except for a hesitation in the ninth when both deuce and deuce threatened at one point. Eventually the Germans played a lucky one and in the tenth Martina's excellent double clear with a roll out paved the way for next year's Group A and also a trip to the World Championships.
