22.11.2022,

We're two-thirds of the way through.

Ostersund is a small town six hours north of Stockholm by train. Given the normal winter weather, there is a base for winter sports of a representative level. There are stadiums, halls, venues widely used by Swedish and foreign athletes. The Czech junior women have a beautiful memory of the now defunct hall in which they won silver medals at the World Junior Championships ten years ago. From today's perspective, it is hard to imagine the success of the Czech colours in a category that symbolizes development and the future. Klára Svatoňová, one of the national team members at that time, is also in the current adult women's line-up, which is striving to return to the European and world elite. Today's game against the undefeated Estonian women, which completed the second third of the tournament's regular season, might have been a bit of a hint. Marie Turmann, now Kaldvee (skip of the Estonians), has been a long-time mainstay of her team and even today she resisted our efforts for a long time and thwarted the Czech efforts with excellent saves. However, we had good weight today and read the ice relatively quickly. Thanks to that we scored a couple of extra points, which were enough for a controlled win. The men lost to the Swedes in the morning and to the Italians in the evening. In the A hall the stones were serviced the day before yesterday and in the B hall the stones will be serviced tonight. So we should have more spin tomorrow.
