The Czechs watched the evening draw from the stands.

photo:Hans Wuthritch - main icemaker The Americans handled the Swiss with surprising ease, not helped by the crowd chanting whenever their (Canadian) coach Howard was on the ice. The French also handled the Japanese quite easily. The Canadians' game with the Chinese was like cat and mouse. Kevin Martin and his teammates were openly bored at times, called up a fifth player for the last two ends (instead of Ben Hebert) and calmly led the match to a victorious end. The wild match between Germany and Scotland (the teams gifted each other fours) was accompanied by nervous gestures and strange grimaces, which were noticed especially by the Scottish fans and criticized quite harshly after the match. Nevertheless, the Scots won. The match was full of small tactical mistakes, which were especially unfortunate for the unclean Andy Kapp. The box of honour is mostly half filled with curling stars of yesteryear. Apart from Swiss Danieli, Nora Ramsfjell, Canadian Northcott and others, Randy Ferbey, also nicknamed "Dandy Randy", is often seen in a fashionable polka dot shirt. The Czechs have Germany on the schedule tomorrow morning, followed by Canada. The ice is still not at the right level. But it's getting better.
