The leader of the Czech team is Jiří Candra.
Jirka has taken on the thankless role of expedition leader, and so he actually has a double engagement. He is also the assistant coach of the national junior team. He himself has two participations in European qualifiers and even participated in the 2007 World Junior Championships in Eveleth - USA, where he was the vice-skipper. He was also in the starting line-up of the 2007 academic team that played the Universiade tournament in Turin, but illness prevented him from going to Italy, so he was replaced at the last minute by Tomáš Novák from Zlaté Praga. Jirka is the one who knows everything about transport, accommodation, money, jerseys etc. The inconspicuous man in the background is therefore Jiri Candra.
