Weekend games didn't bring us a win.
The Czechs fell behind a bit against the Chinese early on and again the weight gave us problems. A nice return to the match after well played stones and cleverly chosen approaches was unfortunately not crowned with success. In the ninth end we did not hold our promising position and our opponent decided the match decisively. The evening duel between the girls and the Scots had an exciting conclusion. After we were already quite clearly down 1 : 6 we baked a beautiful three and in the tenth end we forced a continuation after a good lineout and a mistake by the Scottish skip (Fleming). The extra end looked wonderful. The opening was exemplary, the continuation very good, but with the last stone we offered the Scots a double on one and this time the world champion made no mistake. The loss is disappointing because it's the same pattern as yesterday - a win within reach - and nothing. We have to bounce back and move on. The boys have to work hard. And the girls? They have to.
