A virus between the cameras.

Sunday's draw, which included two Czech matches, has been significantly changed. It all started during Saturday night's practice, which was cancelled at the last minute because of the appearance of Covid-19 among the TV crew. The competition management, in cooperation with local health authorities, decided to wait for the results of the latest tests of players and coaches to be sure. Later that night, an email arrived announcing that the first round on Sunday was cancelled and the scheduled matches would be played on another date. This meant we missed the duel with the Danes. All tests were eventually declared negative and the championship could go ahead. For us, this meant that we would play the game against Japan at 7:30 tonight. The Japanese presented themselves as a consistent team that made mistakes when under pressure but handled normal game situations with great routine. We missed a threatening four by inches in the fourth end and that cost us the match. The other ends, played on the edge of risk, didn't turn out the way we needed, partly due to the difficult technical conditions making it hard to read the ice. But the opponent was better overall and deserved the win. We returned from the evening training session (this time it was held) with Petra and Ezhen at quarter to twelve and we need to get some sleep for tomorrow's doubleheader against China and Sweden.
