It's pretty cold in Calgary and it rains sometimes. Sunny moments are rare, and when they come, we try to enjoy them on our balconies. We put up the Czech flag and feel a little more at home. There are other problems. More TV crew members with covid have arrived and there will definitely be no more World Cup broadcasts. This will probably have an impact on the insurance companies who will have to pay for the lost profits. Our games were good but not winning. With China we came under pressure in the first half and despite a great effort and opportunities generated, we could not resist the machine-like precision of the Asians. The game against Sweden was different. It was influenced a lot by the situation from the second end, when one of our players, while throwing in the goal circles, touched a moving stone. After an extensive debate, the Swedes decided to move their non-scoring stone into the circles and thus create an opportunity to score three points. They then confirmed it with a successful attempt. We were sorry, but the rules are clear and give the injured team the right to resolve the situation in their own way. We took a while to recover, which cost us two more points. We were the better team in the second half, but we couldn't make up the deficit. Tomorrow we have another doubleheader with a delayed start. We have more tests and we will wait for the results. There have been cases of viral infections, for example, because they have stopped cleaning our hotel completely, even though it was every third day before. The second half of the championship is still ahead of us and it will be interesting.
