The final of the women's section of the Jönköping tournament was taken by two teams from our group, and the ultimate winner was the Schwaller team, who have been participating in a number of top quality international tournaments this season and often come out on top. These Swiss women, led by Olympic medallist Andreas Schwaller, may have to wait a little longer for their national jerseys, as Tirinzoni and Paetz are ruling their country for now, but the crown princesses are already collecting their laurels. In our last game we lost to the Estonian women after a balanced game, when we had extra ends within our reach and in some endings a chance to get more points, but we couldn't confirm the promising runs. Another well-organized tournament is over. The Nordic Tour seems to be an interesting project, similar to the Scottish idea of putting together a regional calendar of quality tournaments. If it can be made to compete with the Canadian circuit, it could mean less travel and simpler logistics while maintaining the highest standards. Certainly a topic to ponder.
