Up to the semi.

The criteria used by the organizers of the Galena tournament to determine the teams advancing to the postseason are similar to some Nordic series. They simply make an overall ranking after the group games are played and from that come the teams for the qualifying games, which will fill out the semi-finalists to the required four. A maximum of eight ends are played, and if the score is tied, a shoot-out is played. The winners of the matches take three points, but the winners of the shoot-out take only two. Losers of a tied match ending in a shoot-out take a point. This allows the point gains to be spread out a bit more widely, and because of this, often the Draw Shot Chalenge doesn't have to be decided. We, thanks to a win in the fourth match against the Austrians (Hofer), were assured of a place in the superstructure, and went into the last match in the group at 14.30 against the Scots (Carson). We suffered our first loss, but it doesn't change the fact that we are in first place in the overall standings after the group matches and will play the semi-final match tomorrow from 9am. As always in these types of tournaments, there are some curling celebrities. For example, an Olympic bronze medalist, a three-time European champion, a former junior men's world champion, a world champion and a silver medalist from the European Championships, and more. Maybe new curling stars are being born here in St. Gallen to follow in their footsteps.
