WCT - Basel 2019, Women.
Basel for the second time, in a few days. This time as coach of our women's national team. The Basel Curling Hall, which has an address of Schwimmbad weg, really does consist (according to the street name) of not only a curling area with five lanes, but also a former swimming pool that has been converted into three more curling lanes. Eight lanes are not needed this year, however, as the tournament is played by sixteen women's teams, divided into four groups. We have, in ours, two Swiss and one Swedish team. Friday brought us together with the two Swiss and we lost to them. In the first match (against Hurlimann) we did not take advantage of the chances offered, especially in the sixth end, and in the second match (against Schwizgebel) after a very good first half we could not keep the lead we had built up. Tomorrow we have two more matches and then we will see if we can continue the tournament on Sunday.
