The Czech Women's National Team is ushering in a new era. Following the example of the Swedes and Canadians, female players - mothers - are entering the scene and not infrequently bring their children to tournaments and championships. This time Anna, the mother, couldn't go, so Bětka, the mother, took her place as skip. Her daughter Klaudia together with her au pair Honza complete this year's expedition to Bern. Friday's program included two duels. The first against the German team Messenzehl and the second opponent was the Swiss team Blackham. Before the matches there is a few minutes of practice in Bern, which is limited to four stones for each player - two back and two forth, and is finished with one "last stone draw" played with a selected rotation. For the second practitioner, it must be the one opposite to the one played by the first team in the sequence. Both games ended with us winning, with the second one being more complicated in its development and we had to play out the situation in the last end, without advantage, to keep at least one of our stones in a good position. Hoffman of Switzerland, playing the last stones, had to play a heavy tap back to keep her own team in the game, but was not successful. So we have two wins and one loss so far. Tomorrow we have two more matches - Kim (Korea) and Wrana (Sweden).
