So far a wild ride of mixed doubles, but let's not jinx it.

Senior teams took a trip to the lake and waterfall. Pleasant walks, improving weather, interesting fauna and beautiful Canadian scenery were a change from spending time constantly in the hall or at the hotel. Me, Honza, Peter, while having lunch at a local hotel, we caught one last shot of our successful pair after the Hungary game and watched the USA-Finland extraend as that was the recruiting ground for our next opponent. In the end it was the Finns (Rantamakki and Kauste). We couldn't miss the quarterfinals. We went in full numbers to support Zuzka and Tomas. The Czechs were down 1 to 4 and then with improved play they made a power play three. In the seventh end Kauste didn't play hit and stay in the Finnish power play and the Czechs went into the eighth end one down with the advantage. Zuzka and Tomas were more accurate in the end. In this match the weaker Oona Kauste made another mistake and Zuzka didn't have to throw anymore, because we were two behind in rings. The win keeps our hopes alive for the 2018 Olympics. Switzerland, who are in the same situation as us, are in the way. A loss means the end of hopes for either team. A win, on the other hand, means the Olympics. We'll be there, shouting our lungs out.
